CLEVELAND, OHIO – (January 2018) – Elisabeth C. Plax, Ph.D., a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner and founder of the former Beachwood-Ohio based Plax & Associates, announced her retirement this month following 34 years as a wealth advisor and active proponent of financial education for individuals, families and business owners throughout Northeast Ohio. Plax, who holds an MBA in Finance and an MA and Ph.D. in University Administration, spent more than three decades providing comprehensive financial planning and consulting services. She began her career in University Administration in 1973 and later joined Cigna Financial Services in 1984. In 1993, she founded Plax & Associates which was acquired by Cleveland-based Planned Financial Services in September 2014.
“I had the pleasure of knowing Elisabeth long before she joined our PFS team in 2014 and always admired how she was able to take the same passion she had for her clients’ financial well-being to the community at-large as a strong voice for financial literacy.” said Frank Fantozzi, CPA, MST, PFS, CDFA, AIF®, President and Founder of Planned Financial Services. “We shared the same philosophy and emphasis on helping our clients work toward pursuing the Return on Life® they seek through the delivery of actionable and objective financial and investment planning advice. So, when Elisabeth was ready to sell her successful firm in preparation for her retirement, it was natural to bring her and her team on board for the benefit of our shared clients.”
“While we will miss working with Elisabeth, her legacy will live on at Planned Financial Services through the team members she worked side by side with over the last four years,” Fantozzi added. “And while I know Elisabeth has some enviable travel plans in mind as she enters this next chapter in her life, we’re not going to let her get too far away. We still know where she lives!”
Plax, who resides in Beachwood, Ohio is well-known in the greater Cleveland community for lending her talent and financial acumen to a broad variety of civic, cultural arts, and charitable organizations in various leadership roles as a board member, president, or volunteer over more than three decades.
